Meditation involves techniques used to control your mind, or to induce a state of consciousness, with goals commonly including realizing a benefit of the meditation or identifying a thought without identifying yourself with that thought. As a practice, meditation is used to relax, achieve inner focus, and to develop and retain positive emotions.
